Thank a Policeman during National Police Week

“Always Wacky; Sometimes Serious”

Today is the official “launch” for Wacky Day site. I will change the banner and the overall “look” very soon. I wanted to have that done for you by today but I am a person with a life. This weekend my daughter graduated from college and tonight yours truly will be doing a Johnny Cash tribute.

What’s Wacky Today?

Today is Pack Rat Day. Basically this day is to tell us how we need to evaluate the things we are keeping and consider what to throw away or give away. This is something I try to do almost on a daily basis. By doing so this actually “clears” one’s mind and also makes room for attaining more and better things in your life. This is a way of releasing and trusting that we can “give” and not be in “want”. This may be a bit “heavy” for some and if so, just get rid of a few things today and you’ll see what I mean. (If not, leave comments for me).

What Wacky happened on this date in the past?

New York Stock Exchange was established when a group of 24 brokers and merchants met by a tree on what is now Wall Street and signed the Buttonwood Agreement. (Is the tree still there?)

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously against segregation in schools in Brown v. Board of Education.

The first Kentucky Derby was held at Churchill Downs, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Who has a birthday today?

There are many people who were born on this day who are or were famous; I only share a few here. Go ahead and do a search to learn more info on these and others. To have your name listed, see details on this page.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO PLAN AHEAD:

What’s wacky one month out.
June 17th: Eat Your Vegetables Day (Interesting with June 16th being Fresh Veggies Day; some of us must need more coaxing).

JUNE is: Aquarium Month, Candy Month, Dairy Month, Accordion Awareness Month, Adopt a Cat Month, Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, Rose Month and Turkey Lovers Month.

What’s wacky two months out.
July 17th: National Ice Cream Day (Peach Ice Cream in particular) and Yellow Pig Day? You’ll have to do some more research on that. Maybe you’ll need to plan to each peach ice cream with a yellow pig?

NOTE: Submit your picture of a yellow pig and if we use it on July 17th, you'll get a free "My picture was on Wacky Day" certificate via email to print and frame! CLICK HERE to upload your scanned picture.

July is National Blueberry Month, National Anti-Boredom Month, Unlucky Month (for Weddings), Cell Phone Courtesy Month, Hot Dog Month, and National Ice Cream Month.

What’s wacky three months out.
August 17th: Thrift Shop Day (Hmm, to think that it is just 3 months to the day earlier, that we are giving things to the thrift store. “They” say that it’s usually 3 months later that we need what we’ve thrown away; or is it 3 days?)

AUGUST is: Admit You’re Happy, Family Fun, National Catfish, National Eye, National Golf, Peach, Romance Awareness, Water Quality and National Picnic Month.

138 days have lapsed and there are 228 days left.

This week is: National Police Week

This week let’s make it better for our police force; behave yourself! Watch your speed. And when you hear a siren pull over if you are driving and if not, send up a good word and blessing for both the person in need and the officer; they both need it.

Are we having fun yet? If so tell your friends; if not, tell your mother in law.

Make it a great day!
Ter Scott!
Life and Legacy Coach

PS. You may not be seeing important ads from our sponsors if you are using “ad blocking software”. These sponsors make it possible for us to get this fun info to you every day! Please tell them (when you can) that Ter Scott at Wacky Day sent you!

Submit a jpeg of a picture depicting a Wacky Holiday or other and if we use it, we’ll give you credit and link to your website (must be family friendly). This is great for a school project, for instance. Create a coloring contest, scan the best and send it to us! Please have it your picture at least 8 x 8 and it must be at 400 resolution.
