JUNE 4. Today is full of “holidays” that you can hang your hat on; your “promotional” hat that is.

It’s “Hug you Cat” day so pet stores and vet clinics should create promotions around this theme. They could even sponsor a city-wide event (in conjunction with a pet shelter?) and have a pet parade?
Interesting, however, that it is also National Cheese Day (when the cat’s away the mice will play; with cheese???) Everyone seems to love cheese, even if you don’t live in Wisconsin like yours truly. And you can make all kinds of yummy food from cheese; like cheese soup! But you don’t have to be a cheese shop to celebrate and promote. Any place could host a cheese and wine event or even offer a cheesy hairstyle, or cheesy joke contest?
And today is also Applesauce Cake Day. Grocery stores, radio stations, and other related businesses could have a bake-off or recipe contest.
And yes, it’s equally true, it is “Old Maid’s Day” today. Bars and nightclubs can have fun with this and dress shops could have “old maid” fashion shows.
