Welcome to Wacky Day where you'll always find the wackiest facts for each day. Use what you find here to tell your friends so they think you are clever or as ideas for promotions for your business. Here is what we found to be why today is Wacky:
Come and Take it Day
Whatever it is, when offered, come and get it! This could be “The Universe” telling you that today is YOUR day and you should “go for it”; whatever your “it” is. Or, a friend has always offered you his or her (whatever) and you’ve never taken them up on it. Or perhaps a business is offering something FREE today, go and get it! BTW, remember that this is not “Come and STEAL it Day”. Be sure to always get permission! And as always, make fun and have fun!

Today is Mad Hatter Day created by computer geeks back in the year 1986. It is a “silly” day based on the character from Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter. Wear a top hat today and be silly. If you own a clothing store here’s your opportunity to have a Mad Hatter sale. If you own a “silly” business, do something silly today. It’s all good!

Today is National Physician's Assistant Day which recognizes the importance and skills of the Physician's Assistant. You may not realize who is a Physician’s assistant in the field because they do their jobs so well. I actually didn’t even know that this was an actual position but it was created in 1965 by Dr. Eugene Stead at Duke Medical Center. According to the Mayo Clinic School of Health, the physician’s assistants are formally trained to examine patients, diagnose injuries and illnesses, and provide treatment. Working as members of the health care team, PAs take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and X-rays, make diagnoses, and prescribe medications.
If you own a restaurant or bakery, stop by your local hospital with something and be sure to label it “Happy Physician Assistant Day” to be sure that they get it! Of course, you’ll sure to be noticed by everyone there. If you own a medical clothing store or any business which caters to the medical industry, take advantage of this day to have a sale or discounts only for physician assistants and be sure that they know via your Facebook page, and other media (including snail mail of cards to the actual location).
